Publication Ethics
JAYANARA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Further details on international guidelines and standards can be found on the COPE website.
Duties of Authors
- Reporting Standards
Authors of original research should present an accurate account of the work conducted and provide an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be accurately represented, and sufficient detail and references must be included to allow replication. Misleading or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable. - Data Access and Retention
Authors are requested to provide raw data for editorial review and should be willing to allow public access where feasible. Authors must retain such data for a reasonable period after publication. - Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of others’ work or words must be properly cited or acknowledged. - Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals is unethical. - Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Influential publications should be cited appropriately. - Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions. All co-authors must approve the final version and agree to its submission. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of the manuscript, including sources of funding. - Fundamental Errors in Published Works
Authors who discover significant errors must promptly notify the editor and cooperate to correct or retract the paper. - Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
Research involving hazardous materials, procedures, or equipment must be clearly identified in the manuscript.
Duties of Editors
- Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political philosophy. - Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts except to those directly involved in the publication process. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials must not be used in editors’ own research without written consent from the author. - Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which articles are published, based on validity, importance, and journal policies, while adhering to legal requirements. - Review of Manuscripts
Editors must ensure fair and appropriate peer review by selecting qualified reviewers and avoiding conflicts of interest.
Duties of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in decision-making and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. - Promptness
Reviewers who are unable to review promptly or feel unqualified should notify the editor and withdraw. - Standards of Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively, with clear arguments and without personal criticism. - Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. - Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not use privileged information for personal advantage and should avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist. - Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify uncited relevant work and report any substantial similarity with other published works to the editor.
